Overview

Libraries SA’s inaugural festival, Firstival provided the perfect platform to engage and educate the whole South Australian community on the offering at their local public library. Firstival encouraged South Australians to try something new, with over 300 unique experiences rolled out across all public libraries over a month-long program.

Approach

CALLIE developed a strategic PR plan which aimed to announce and promote Firstival alongside building awareness for Libraries SA, its new brand, and to encourage people to visit one of its extensive network of libraries across the State.

Beyond launching Firstival, generating awareness, positive associations and a deeper understanding of Libraries SA was central to the public relations strategy.

Outcomes

  • Over 30 pieces of media coverage achieved.
  • ABC Radio Adelaide, Afternoons with Sonya Feldhoff, produced a feature series for the month of Firstival, with a weekly interview secured with select Libraries SA key spokespeople and individual Firstival organisers.
  • Broadcast, radio, digital, and print coverage was achieved across key publications including 7 News Adelaide, Ten News First Adelaide, ABC Radio Adelaide, The Sunday Mail, and Broadsheet.
  • Event listings secured across all major South Australian platforms both digital and in print, including key outlets, CityMag, SA Life, Kiddo Mag and SA Weekend Magazine Shortcuts.
